I couldn't take that chance. I would be tempted to burn my crap up . I know I have a safe tune up to go 4.5 and slower. ;D

Welcome aboard nitro...
There is a lot to consider when deciding which way to go in the fast doorslammer world. Most of these decisions revolve around your budget.
What is your ideal plan?

I see.
All I can tell you is go with your gut feeling. If it doesn't feel right, pass on the deal. Finding a good car can be hard at times.
Keep your eyes open on Racing Junk for deals. If you want to build an engine for a specific class, only use a well known, reputable builder.
As far as used stuff goes, trust NO ONE! If you buy a used engine, at the very least take the pan off and look at the bottom end, and look under the valve covers. You can at least make sure all the components are what is advertised.
You may find responses hard to come by on this board. There are not a lot of followers and all the cars in Outlaw Top Sportsman run in the 4.70 range. The Yellowbullet forum has a wealth of knowledge (and trash talk)...with lots of helpful people.
As far as I am concerned, you are welcome to post on this board. I'm not trying to run you off by my statements above. Good luck with your build! If you have any more questions...I will do my best to answer (and hopefully someone else here will contribute some useful info for you).
